Today, I have been reflecting on the many blessings in my life. As difficult and uncertain as these times may seem, I have so much to be thankful for. Unfortunately, it seems we don’t have to look far to find others who are in circumstances much worse.

I recently had the opportunity to co-chair Muskegon Project Homeless Connect. It was an event that provided a one-stop shop of health and human services for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. On a cold day, more than 200 families lined up for hours just so they could put food on the table for their family for one more week. More than 10,000 pounds of food was distributed that day.

I’m proud to say I was part of a group of volunteers who made a difference in many lives that day - but it’s not enough. I encourage you to donate to a local food pantry and if you can’t donate food or money, donating your time is just as valuable. Please do what you can to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.
